Features & Details
1989 Context: This era represents the earlier years of the Gibson Bozeman, Montana facility, which is often associated with high-quality acoustic construction.
Pickguard: Usually features the ornate floral "vine and flowers" pickguard, although some, particularly related to the 20th Anniversary models, might have different appointments.
Sound: Known for a deep, resonant, and balanced tone due to the large maple body.
This particular example is in very good condition. There is one repair to the lower treble bout - looks to have been an inch square puncture. The repair is solid and there is no extra cleating added to the interior - pro work. Looks to have been played by someone with long nails and a light touch, as there is more wear to the fingerboard than the original frets. Most of the wear is in 1st position - refer to the pics. It's fitted with a Barcus Berry bridgeplate transducer and endpin jack. Neck measures 1.733" wide at the nut and is a comfortable C carve. Great playing and sounding jumbo! Weighs 5 pounds on the nose and ships in the vintage Guild HSC shown.
