Fender Custom Shop Jazz Bass neck, built by J.W. Black for Bob Dylan in 1993. The current owner received this in a trade from Cesar Diaz in 1993, who was Bob Dylan’s guitar tech at the time. The original bass was made with this neck, as well as a replacement rosewood neck, as indicated in J.W. Black’s builder’s log (see photo), which reads ”3-93 Bob Dylan BD03 - Black Ash Jazz Bass Maple/RW necks.
The original J.W. Black Fender Custom Shop Jazz Bass built for Bob Dylan is currently up for sale on this site with the rosewood neck.
