A refined German violin bow crafted by Hermann Richard Pfretzschner, an accomplished maker who trained and worked with J.B. Vuillaume in Paris. His work often reflects the stylistic influence of F.N. Voirin. The bow is exceptionally well preserved and is a very nice playing bow with a wonderful tonal quality and fine handling. The stick is made from fine red-brown pernambuco, octagonal in shape, and beautifully finished. The frog is ebony with silver mountings. The button is ebony with silver cap. In very good condition and ready for professional use, the bow has been professionally rehaired just last week. The bow measures 29 inches in length and weighs 61 grams.
