Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a high quality Electro Voice PL11 model cardioid dynamic microphone made in the 1980's in Buchanan, Michigan in the 1980's. It comes with the Audix model clip shown as well as the older metal case in which to store the mic.

The RE-11 was a high quality studio mic sold for several years that was part of the RE-10, RE-11, RE-15 & RE-16 family. These are still very popular and desirable mics that are excellent for vocals such as broadcasting and singing.

Pic # 2 shows the mics characteristics from an old E.V advertisement. The PL11 model was identical to the RE-11 model except for two differences. The PL11 had a darker green paint scheme and lacked the bass drop off switch which was on every RE-11, RE-10, and RE-15 mic made.

The PL11 utilized the same dynamic cardioid element as the RE-11 and has a beautiful warm, smooth tone with just the right amount of bass. A very high quality studio mic that sounds far better than most modern dynamic cardioid mics. The quality control and materials that went into these older mics are arguably far better than what is available today.

The PL11 was only made for about 10 years I believe and was just slightly more affordable because it lacked the bass drop off switch.

The PL11 is an excellent choice for both singing and broadcasting purposes. Lite weight and built like a tank. These mics rarely fail and have strong output.

The PL11 came with the larger exterior front grill / pop filter giving you less unwanted feedback (pops) while live. It should be noted that all of these older RE-11 and PL11 mics need to have the inner foam replaced as it's crucial to the sound characteristics of the mic and I do all that. This mic is good to go for another 40 years easy. Even if you don't buy from me just know that it has to be done if you're going to be happy with the sound of the mic.

This microphone has been thoroughly cleaned and tested but as you can see the mic is in pretty nice overall condition.

The chrome mesh screen is very nice too with no deformation, odors or tarnish. The original olive drab green paint on the handle has extremely lite wear but no paint loss or deep scratches. No fractures or dents either and the E.V label is completely legible. This mic is about as nice as they come and hard to believe it's 40 years old. Again, works perfectly.

The XLR pins on the mic have been cleaned to ensure a perfect signal once the cable is attached.

The mic takes a standard XLR cable which is not included but easy enough to find.

The RE-11 also comes with the new Audix model mic clip that is in perfect condition and works great for this microphone giving the user a wide degree of tilt up and down as needed. It grips the mic firmly. The clip will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have as well.

The Vintage period case is also part of this package deal. A larger durable metal case with new foam inner padding. A Great place to keep the mic while not in actual mic as it keeps dust, dirt and scratches away. This case shows almost no wear and has a beautiful mustard gold painted exterior and a practical handle for carrying it around. A nice locking latch to keep the lid closed too. The case is appx 14 inches across X 7 1/2 inches deep X 2 inches tall. It has plenty of room inside for a long or short cable. Case is an easy 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10.

Overall this mic is physically a true 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10. This PL11 will get the job done.   This is an American made mic that will continue to rise in price as the years go by.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
