A rare opportunity to own a piece of Bossa Nova history. This 1966 Giannini Model 6 was handcrafted in São Paulo, Brazil, during the prime era of Brazilian guitar manufacturing. It is a true time-capsule instrument, verified by an internal label dated 10/66 and an original sales receipt from Melody Music Co. in Hartford, Conn., dated December 8, 1966.
Tonewoods & Construction
• Top: Select Spruce featuring a tight, straight grain.
• Back & Sides: Imbuia (Brazilian Walnut). Unlike the dark streaks of rosewood, this Imbuia displays a beautiful golden-tan to olive-brown hue with a subtle, wavy grain pattern.
• Finish: The original lacquer has aged into a stunning, uniform "spiderweb" weather checking across the entire body. This is purely cosmetic and highly prized by vintage collectors as a sign of an original, thin finish that has aged naturally over 60 years.
