"The Denim Lady," AKA "The Gator Bass" was my version of a first generation Precision Bass. I found myself with a chunky Harley Benton neck, but wasn't happy with the body. I set out to create a lightweight, well-balanced P-style bass with a thick tone. The finish is inspired by ships. The hardware is brass and brushed chrome and the matte blue finish is accented with gold leaf. Overall antique finish.
SPECS:
• All maple neck, chunky, C-shape. 34" scale; antiqued with hues ranging from golden honey to worn gray, finished with danish oil
• Bone string nut, 42mm
• Warmoth swamp ash body, matte blue with french polish finish
• EMG MMHZ passive pickup with volume and tone control; positioned closer to neck like the original Precision Basses
• Hipshot Y-Key Tuners, matte chrome
• Bad Ass III Bridge, brushed chrome with gold detailing
• Brass tuning knobs
• String-through
• La Bella limited edition "California Sunshine" tapewound strings
• 8 lbs.
This bass has absolutely no neck-dive and sounds like a beast. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm including a video of a song called "Broke Down Truck" by Gatorwater recorded at Shirk Studios with this bass. There are moments when you can hear the bass tone clearly.
