About this guitar:
Weight: 5.6 pounds
This guitar came directly from Takamine to my supplier, it has never been sold retail, the protective stickers are still on the back of the tuners. It was inspected and tested by factory authorized technicians. All electronics are working as designed, the neck is straight and the set up is to factory specs. We also tested the guitar when we received it and found no issues, it plays and sounds great. When we polished the guitar we did not find any blemishes, dings or cracks.
Here is what Takamine says about the GD30CE 12 string acoustic electric:
Affordable, ergonomically friendly 12-string.
The Takamine GD-30CE 12-string acoustic-electric guitar brings the bold, intricate sound of a 12-string to the stage and studio. Takamine crafted this dreadnought with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides for resonant, full-bodied tone. The slim mahogany neck and 12" radius ovangkol fingerboard offer smooth playability, while the soft Venetian cutaway grants easy access to higher frets.
Resonant Tone With a Spruce Top and Mahogany Back and Sides
The GD-30CE 12-string gets its rich, complex sound from the pairing of a spruce top with mahogany back and sides. The solid spruce top vibrates freely, allowing the GD-30CE 12-string to sing with clarity and projection. Mahogany contributes warm, rounded lows and strong midrange punch. Together, these tonewoods yield excellent resonance and sustain perfect for the lush harmonies of a 12-string guitar.
Slim Mahogany Neck and 12" Radius Ovangkol Fingerboard for Smooth Playability
The slim mahogany neck joins the body at the 14th fret for easy access to upper frets. Its smooth satin finish and slim profile lend a comfortable, fast feel. The ovangkol fingerboard has a 12" radius for low, buzz-free action and easy chord changes. Jumbo frets allow for expressive string bending. This combination makes the GD-30CE 12-string enjoyable to play for long periods.
Onboard Takamine TP-4TD Preamp System
The GD-30CE 12-string comes equipped with Takamine's TP-4TD preamp system, giving you control over your amplified tone. It features a built-in tuner for quick tuning between songs, along with a 3-band EQ and gain controls so you can easily shape your sound. The preamp's natural acoustic voicing accurately captures the GD-30CE 12-string's warm, balanced tone.
Premium Appointments Like Chrome Tuners
Premium details like chrome die-cast tuners provide smooth and reliable tuning stability. Other appointments include a rosewood bridge, synthetic bone nut and saddle and pearloid dot inlays. The GD-30CE 12-string comes equipped for amplified performances and studio work right out of the box.

FAQ, frequently asked questions
Why are instruments sent to a refurbisher? The instrument could be a discontinued model, have a finish imperfection, or need a minor repair.
Who refurbishes your instruments? All of my instruments come from the largest and best refurbisher in the country, where any issue found is corrected by a factory trained and authorized luthier.
Does a refurbished instrument have the manufacturer warranty? No, any instrument sent to a refurbisher, regardless of the reason it was sent there, no longer carries the manufacturer warranty. Per agreement with Takamine there is a tiny used stamp on the back of the headstock to indicate there is no factory warranty.
Will I need to set up my instrument when I receive it? All of my instruments have been set-up before shipping, so most are ready to play out of the box. However some instruments may need a minor adjustment after shipping due to changes in temperature, humidity, and getting bumped around during shipping. Also some players like to set up a new guitar to their own personal preferences.
