These are custom, Jank Tone Broadcaster (Telecaster) pickups. These were hand wound for me by my good friend and owner Pat Michael to my specifications. These feature 43 ga. wire instead of 42 ga. wire like the original Broadcaster pickups. 43 ga. wire is thinner and has more resistance per wind, so they usually read quite a bit higher than standard Telecaster 42 ga pickups. On my digital meter the neck reads 9.1 ohms and the bridge reads 11.7 ohms. I had these in a Tele project and played them quite a bit. They are noticeably hotter than standard or reissue Fender Tele pickups. They aren't crazy hot, but they are hotter. They also have a bit more midrange in their voicing. The neck pickup has a separate ground wire to the metal cover. This allows you to wire them up with a 4-way switch (1. bridge/ 2. neck + bridge parallel/ 3. Neck/ 4. Neck + Bridge Series which gives you a lot of incredible tones. These would make excellent blues/rock or even jazz pickups. They are fantastic pickups. Here's your chance to become a Jankster! Thanks for looking.
