The 1960s Teisco Del Rey EP-10T is a Japanese-made, thinline semi-hollow body electric guitar known for its "bizarre" styling, featuring a large 17.25-inch wide body, twin single-coil pickups, and a 4+2 headstock. Common specifications include a 24.75-inch scale length, Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, and an adjustable roller bridge with a tremolo tailpiece.
Key Features and Specs:
- Body: Laminated hardwood, double-cutaway, thinline hollow body with F-holes, often in sunburst.
- Neck: Thin C-shaped laminated hardwood neck.
- Fingerboard: Rosewood with 22 thin frets and dot inlays.
- Scale Length: 24.75".
- Pickups: Two original single-coil pickups.
- Controls: Volume/Tone with individual pickup toggles and rhythm/lead switch
- Bridge/Tremolo: Adjustable roller saddle bridge with original "whammy" bar.
- Headstock: 4+2 configuration, often with "Teisco" or "Del Rey" badge.
This example is missing the pickguard and logo, and the trem arm/spring are from a donor guitar. The clear coat has some very slight hazing along some edges of the instrument - refer to the pics. Neck measures 1.684" wide at the nut and has a comfortable oval profile (like a mid 60s Strat carve). Frets have no visible wear, and the guitar sets up with good action/intonation. Body appears to be full hollow other than a soundpost under the bridge. Original pickups and wiring are fully functional and sound great too! It's a really fun guitar to play that combines the quirky styling of 60s Japanese instruments with the jangle of something like an ES-330 or Casino. Weighs 5.64 pounds and ships in the gig bag shown.
