Overview The Gibson Chet Atkins CE was the first commercially successful solid-body nylon-string electric guitar. Designed in collaboration with Chet Atkins and introduced in 1982, it was built specifically to give nylon-string players a feedback-free instrument for stage use at amplified volumes. The body is chambered solid mahogany with a solid wood top under the black finish, fitted with a Gibson piezo undersaddle pickup and active preamp. This example is the narrow-neck variant with a 1.825" nut width, designed for steel-string players adapting to nylon strings. Single Florentine cutaway, slotted classical headstock with ornate gold tuners and pearl buttons, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and a decorative rosette surrounding a printed faux soundhole featuring the "Chet Atkins" signature and "Gibson" script.
