1975 Gibson ES-175T - Natural & RARE

1975 GIBSON ES-175 THINLINE

This is a rare bird, especially in this color (I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE IN NATURAL!)

• EX (8.5 -9.0) condition; blonde wood w/ nice grain (especially grainy on sides and back), satin and even some  "burl" on top; the finish is fantastic condition:  really NO finish checking, and clean as a whistle.  THERE ARE NO DINGS, CRACKS, OR GOUGES OF ANY KIND.  WHATEVER YOU ARE SEEING IS SHADOWS AND THE RESULT OF MY LACK OF PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS.  GUITAR LOOKS STUNNING.
  
• has correct "Tulip" Kluson tuners on it now, but had Schallers (filled extra hole);
• original knobs;
• bridge (is a German-made tuneamatic, which is correct);
• 2 T-Top Humbuckers have patent #’s; chrome covers are not soldered on because owner thought he preferred sound with them off;they were in the case pocket, along with the tuners (which I put back on)
  
• in a correct red-lined Gibson case;the case (only) has a slight musty smell, but it is the case it was in when I acquired the guitar.  The guitar itself has no smell.
• Has nice fast, slim neck.  Nice bright sound.  Light. 
  

Since this dates to 1975 and is marked "second", Gibson says these were made from ’76 to ’79 and thinks this may be a prototype or a late ’75 (the serial is 250306); has a white/purple tag that says ’175D’ inside; pretty uncommon and a mystery; could not see pot codes.
