The 1990s MXR Phase 90 is part of the Jim Dunlop–era revival of the classic orange phaser, bringing the original 1970s design back into production with a few modern updates. 

Built around the same simple, analog circuit, it delivers the signature warm, swirling phasing that made the pedal famous, with a single Rate knob controlling the speed of the effect—from slow, subtle movement to fast, shimmering modulation.

Compared to vintage units, 1990s reissues typically feature practical additions like an LED status light and external power supply compatibility, while retaining the rugged orange enclosure and straightforward, no-frills operation.
