Collings Traditional or “T” series guitars are built with that true vintage vibe. Representing an exciting vintage-inspired tonal variation on the distinctive Collings sound, it’s designed and crafted to showcase the most desirable characteristics present in coveted pre-war instruments. Bracing and tone woods are adjusted for weight and thickness to create a voicing characterized by warm, rounded highs and a present low midrange, while retaining a quick attack and strong projection.
This excellent condition 2023 D-42A T is built with Indian Rosewood back and sides paired with an Adirondack Spruce top with custom dark vintage sunburst. Colorful Abalone Pearl 42-style purfling and rosette trim the top along with Abalone Pearl 42-style snowflake fretboard inlay and Collings’ torch headstock inlay.
Other features include Ivoroid full body, neck and headstock bindings, full gloss thin finish with vintage toner, Exotic Ebony headstock overlay, no tongue brace, Ebony fretboard and bridge, Mahogany neck with volute, Waverly Nickel tuners, traditional small bridge plate, Bone nut and traditional saddle, 3-style multi-color back strip, Ivoroid pins with Abalone Pearl dots, 1 3/4″ nut width, 2 5/16″ saddle spacing, 25 1/2″ scale length and more.
