Development began in 1971 by a small group that included Leo Fender, and sales commenced in 1976.

It has enjoyed consistent popularity from its launch to the present day, and is now becoming a staple model alongside the Jazz Bass and Precision Bass.

It is favored by numerous world-renowned musicians such as Louis Johnson and Free, and is likely a model that any bassist who has seen it has dreamed of owning at least once.

A major highlight is its classic “Stingray” aesthetic—featuring a natural finish with an ash body, a maple neck, and a maple fingerboard—a configuration no longer found in the current lineup.

Due to its natural finish, there is some discoloration, slight wear on various parts, and general signs of use. However, the truss rod has plenty of adjustment left, and over 80% of the frets remain, ensuring excellent playability.

With new prices continuing to skyrocket, the used Stingray market is moving faster than ever.

Don’t miss out.
