This is a pair of Sennheiser MKH 30 Figure-8 small diaphragm condenser microphones with fairly close serial numbers of 14146 and 14338. Figure-8 microphones make great spot mics due to the superior side rejection. With two of these one can make wonderful stereo recordings using the Blumlein pair technique.
Since my purchase, these microphones have been stored in a smoke-free home and taken out for just a handful of on location concert recordings. I have a surplus of figure-8 microphones and am selling off a few.
The images are of the actual items for sale, so examine closely to determine the condition of these microphones.
Included are: plastic cases, wind screens, mic holders, shockmounts, and a MZD 30 Piggyback Microphone Holder (per B&H "The Sennheiser MZD-30 Piggyback Microphone Holder accommodates any combination of any two MKH20, MKH30, MKH40 or MKH50 microphones.").
The shockmount elastics were replaced in 2024.
