Mid to late 70s M. Hohner Contessa HG-14 Classical guitar in good condition. Spruce top, Mahogany back, sides and neck. Rosewood fretboard and bridge. Fan bracing. Had a crack between the top and bottom side that was glued. Normal cosmetic wear for a vintage classical, but nothing affecting structure or tone. Plays and sounds great. Straight neck. Part of the earlier Made‑in‑Japan production run before Hohner shifted Contessa manufacturing to Korea. These MIJ classicals are known for their clean workmanship, stable necks, and warm, balanced tone. Scale: Standard Classical. Nut width is classical spec (wide and comfortable). New strings just put on by someone who doesn't know how to string a classical, lol. Comes in original 70s case.
The spruce/mahogany combination gives this HG‑14 a warm midrange, clear trebles, and a balanced open vintage voice.
