1966 Fender Jazz Bass, Olympic White Refinish. The body and headstock have been refinished, and a new decal has been applied. Very good condition. Rosewood fingerboard and a tortoise guard with no cracks or shrinkage. Supplied with a Gator case.
The body finish has a few small scuffs and dings, mainly around the edges, as well as lacquer checking throughout. It has a lovely birds-eye maple neck, which has wear through the finish. The headstock also has a few tiny scuffs and a small surface-only crack coming from the E string tuner hole. It does not run deeper than the surface, as can be seen in the picture with the tuner off.
This bass is a joy to play with a superb, even sound right across the fretboard. It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of La Bella RX-S4C 45-105 stainless steel roundwound strings. The truss rod works correctly with plenty of room to move. Weight 8 lbs 6.5 oz / 4.24 kg. Serial 169986. The neck date is APR 66A, the pots all date to the 511th week of '66. Nut Width 38.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21 mm.
