This is a rare opportunity to own a Boomstar 3003. It has the most updated firmware (2.0) from Studio Electronics before they went to the MKII models (which, again, no longer include the 3003). It is in perfect condition without a single blemish and everything works as new. I'm very particular about my gear and always handle it carefully and take good care of it. There is no wear and tear, no scratches, the pots are great, and everything works perfectly. I will say that the pots on this model don't have as much resistance as the MKII models, but that's just a preference issue. They work just as well. The synth has always been stored, covered when not in use, in a smoke/pet free climate controlled studio.
The 3003 is rapidly becoming rare because they don't make it anymore, so this is a good one to snatch up if you love the Boomstar rumble and the Roland TB 303 filter. It's really a stunning piece of equipment. Studio Electronics hand builds all of their gear using through-hole construction and it is built to be serviceable and to last forever.
If you're new to the Studio Electronic Boomstars, you are in for a treat. I've owned a lot of analog synths and nothing compares to the Boomstar sound. It will shake your house off its foundations. And the filter on the 3003 sings. I've included an example video from a Sweetwater review. Check it out, it's amazing.
The unit will come with its original box, power supply, and documentation. I will take extreme care in packing and shipping it safely to you.
Please let me know if you have any questions! If you would like some extra peace of mind, have a look at my Reverb reviews as a seller. You will find a ton of extremely happy and satisfied customers.
PS...
One important thing to consider about the Boomstars: they are hand-made in the U.S. using through-hole mounted components. Most modern synths have surface mounted components which are cheaper and do not last as long. Through-hole components are used for high-reliability products that require stronger connections between layers. Whereas SMT components are secured only by solder on the surface of the board, through-hole component leads run through the board, allowing the components to withstand more environmental stress. This is why through-hole technology is commonly used in military and aerospace products that may experience extreme accelerations, collisions, or high temperatures. Synths built with through-hole components are also easier to work on if they ever do need repair.
