Up for sale is this vintage 1988 Fender American Standard Telecaster. This early example of the soon-to-be-famous American Standard series is a great playing and sounding instrument in a great Crimson Metallic finish, which isn't super commonly seen in this era...

This instrument looks to be all original and is in nice condition for its age. This one clearly was gigged and did not live life in the case and, as such, does show wear including some dings (the worst of which we have captured in the photos), a decent amount of buckle rash on the back, and numerous small scuffs and small scratches. There is some chipping around the string-through ferrules on the back of the body (pictured). The original hardware is in nice condition but does show some wear and pitting, the worst of which are on the bridge pickup pole pieces. The nut is chipped a bit on the bass side edge but is purely cosmetic, we just like to be transparent.

This one has just been gone over by our tech who cleaned it up, installed a fresh set of strings, set it up, and sprayed out the electronics. Everything works as it should and the instrument plays nicely with low, comfortable action all the way up the neck. The original frets do show some wear and divoting but still retain plenty of life. There is some light fret buzz here and there but, if you're heavy-handed and find it bothersome, there's plenty of room to adjust the set up to meet your preferences.

A slightly newer, red label 1990's Fender plastic molded hardshell case is included and is in good condition. All of the latches and hinges are present and function as they should. The only issue is that, as is common with these, two of the feet have pushed through the bottom of the case (pictured). The instrument will be well-packed inside and out to ensure safe shipping.
