A super cool Yamaha Flying Samurai SG-2A from the late 60’s early 70’s! It’s In fantastic condition for its age, couple of nicks on the back of the body but the front looks really good. Frets also looks great. This one has been upgraded with a set of Jaguar pickups.
The Yamaha SG-2A is more popularly known as the "Flying Samurai". The nickname comes from its distinctive "hockey stick" headstock. Launched in November 1967 and produced to 1971, Yamaha consulted with legendary surf guitarist Takeshi Terauchi to create a design that stood out from standard American shapes bold move to create original, high-quality solid-body electrics for the surf-rock-obsessed Japanese market. The SG series was built in Hamamatsu to a high standard of craftsmanship, intended to be a professional-grade instrument.The neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard, a 24.75" scale. Pickups: This one has been upgraded with Jaguar pickups. Hardware: Includes a unique Yamaha-designed roller bridgeand vibrato system, plus a zero fret at the nut for consistent string height and open-string tone. Comes with OHC with one missing latch
