2010 Gibson Custom Shop Keb’ Mo’ Bluesmaster – Antique Natural

A beautifully kept early example of the Gibson Custom Shop Keb’ Mo’ Bluesmaster, built in 2010 and carrying the signed internal label. This model draws from the L-00/L-1 lineage, reimagined to Keb’ Mo’s preferences, with understated vintage styling and a focused, expressive voice.

Built to Gibson’s 2010 Custom Shop spec, this features Waverly machine heads a solid Adirondack spruce top paired with solid mahogany back and sides, delivering a dry, woody fundamental with excellent note separation.

The small-body construction keeps things tight and immediate, while the light build allows the top to respond effortlessly to both fingerstyle and light strumming. The mahogany neck has a comfortable rounded profile, paired with a rosewood fingerboard and traditional 12-fret neck join, which shifts the bridge placement into the sweet spot of the lower bout for added warmth and depth.

Tonally, this one has matured nicely. There’s a strong midrange presence typical of the Bluesmaster design, with a slightly compressed, vintage character that sits perfectly in a mix. The low end is controlled but warm, never boomy, while the trebles are dry and articulate with a gentle sparkle.

Fingerpicked passages come through with clarity and nuance, and when pushed, it delivers that classic blues bark—woody, direct, and expressive. It’s the kind of guitar that rewards a dynamic touch, equally at home with Delta-style picking, ragtime patterns, or stripped-back vocal accompaniment.

Condition is excellent. The guitar is super clean and clearly well cared for, with no discernible fret wear and no structural or functional issues. The setup is spot on, with a comfortable, low playing action that makes it an easy instrument to live with.

Factory-fitted electronics make this a reliable choice for stage or studio, capturing the guitar’s natural voice with minimal fuss. Plugged in, it retains that focused midrange and organic warmth, cutting through without sounding artificial.

A balanced, full, and characterful acoustic with a seasoned voice—equally suited to recording, performance, or songwriting. Comes complete with its original Gibson hardshell case.
