The Epiphone SG Modern Figured Trans Black Fade is a versatile, modern SG with a powerful sound and a very comfortable feel. Elegantly built, perfectly set up, and ready for everything from clean tones to crunch and rock.

This truly classy SG is in near-mint condition and, in our opinion, a very versatile guitar. It is well balanced and not quite as neck-heavy as many classic SGs.

The workmanship is of a high standard. The beautifully shaped neck is inspired by a 60s-style profile, but it is not a typical Slim Taper. It has a bit more substance while still remaining clearly slimmer than a 50s profile — very comfortable and well balanced.

The neck has been professionally satin-finished and then polished again. This creates a feel somewhere between glossy and satin — very smooth and “fast” in the hand.

The ebony fingerboard not only looks great, but also feels just as premium as you would expect.

The fretwork was decent from the factory, but not perfect — so we leveled and polished the frets and gave the guitar a complete setup. It now plays cleanly, directly, and very comfortably.

The electronics are a particular highlight on this SG:
It comes fitted with ProBucker-2 (neck) and ProBucker-3 (bridge) pickups — classic humbucker tone with plenty of punch. Via push/pull, the pickups can be split, and there is also an out-of-phase circuit for the neck pickup. This makes it much more versatile than a traditional SG.

The package is rounded off with Grover Locking Rotomatic tuners (18:1) and high-quality CTS pots.
