Personal Thoughts:
This is a seriously striking high-end Eclipse and exactly the sort of Original Series build that feels a step above the norm. The Purple Peel finish is the obvious talking point, and rightly so, because it gives the guitar a really dramatic, almost liquid-looking appearance that feels much more boutique than a standard solid colour. The spec underneath is strong too. The mahogany body with maple cap keeps it rooted in that familiar singlecut formula, while the Honduran mahogany neck, ebony board and Thin U profile make it feel fast, precise and very much aimed at players who want a more modern edge. I also think the EMG JH Het Set is a big part of the appeal here, as those pickups bring loads of clarity, attack and tight low end, but with a slightly more organic feel than some of the older active sets. Add in the TonePros locking bridge, Gotoh hardware and ESP strap locks and it ends up being exactly what you would want from a Japan-built ESP Original Series guitar — slick, purposeful and seriously well put together.
