Early JMI Vox AC30/6 Normal - Local Pickup Only
This is an early JMI Vox AC30/6 Normal with Celestion Blue T530 speakers, Woden transformers, and component stamps consistent with late 1963 production. It's an exceptionally well-preserved example, with the kind of components, visual character, and overall condition that rarely survive six decades of use.
The chassis carries a Burndept Electronics stamp on the aluminum preamp upright, a detail reflecting JMI's corporate structure during this period. All three Woden transformers are present. Both Celestion Blue T530 alnico speakers carry gasket stamps dating them to October 1963, with H1777 Pulsonic cone codes. The transformers and speakers share codes from the same narrow production window, supporting the overall consistency of the component set.
A grounded 3-prong power cord has been fitted, standard practice on any responsibly maintained amp of this era.
What makes an early AC30 so enduring is how naturally it fits into so many styles of music. The platform is celebrated for its chime, harmonic richness, touch sensitivity, and musical overdrive, with a voice that works beautifully for classic rock, pop, indie, blues, roots music, and beyond. Vox continues to present the AC30 as one of its signature sounds. The Beatles played AC30s throughout their early career, Brian May's long-running association with Vox is well documented through official signature products, and The Edge has used a 1964 AC30 as his primary amp for decades.

For an amp of this age, the cosmetic and structural condition is remarkable. We're happy to answer questions and encourage anyone seriously interested to come in and hear it.
