Soundcraft 200 BVE 16x4x2 Console

A lovely Soundcraft 200BVE in excellent working order and very good cosmetic condition! Everything functions, save for the BVE, Mon 1L and Mon 2R monitor buttons, which have been disabled and fixed into place with epoxy for aesthetics. The BVE mini faders (designed to work with an optional external controller made by Sony) have been removed with strips of electrical tape placed neatly over the slots. Channels 9 and 10 have been replaced with 2105 modules–all others are the original 2107s. The 2105 and 2107 are identical in sound and construction, the 2105s just don't have the BVE fader slots. The power supply recently had service and works flawlessly, with original cables included–it's also whisper quiet! The entire console has been cleaned inside and out and treated with deoxit and fader gold where needed. Everything works and is in fantastic condition, although you may hear a very slight scratch or click when engaging a button or turning a knob, but it's nothing serious. The meters are PPM, not VU. These use a really fascinating design, made to be more accurate than VU and easier to look at with less eye fatigue. Worth reading about, but just to let you know, aiming between 3 and 4 on main outs for a full mix is a good starting point. It is almost 40 years old so of course there are signs of use, mainly on the power supply and on the sides (see pictures). Oh, and its fully modular, so maintenance and repair are a dream!

To my ear, this console definitely has a classic warm, big, British sound. It's a joy to work on and the EQs and panning sound lovely. When you push the channels there's a beautiful saturation/drive that's very pleasing. Lots of routing options, and included are 4 custom-made patch cables for inserts: 2 1/4 inch and 2 XLR. These were made because the inserts are wired in reverse (see manual for more details). I really can't say enough good things about this console and the condition its in, I just don't have the space for it and my workflow has changed.
