Hello friends!

Up for sale is a NOS (new old stock) Moog One 16 voice.

I bought this on a whim a few years back due to its serial number, which appealed to me as a collector.

I kept it in storage until I had the time and space to use it. Unfortunately, my studio is getting smaller as my kids need more space, so this wonderful synth will need to find a new home.

I have recently taken it out of the box to check that everything works flawlessly prior to sale.

I also took the opportunity to upgrade to the latest firmware (v. 1.8.2).

In perfect cosmetic and functional condition, with all the original packaging intact (includes both the inner and outer box).

Stickers are still on the display as you can see..

Some personal thoughts

For all the criticism it received at launch, the Moog One remains one of the most ambitious instruments Moog ever attempted. I own a Model D, which is already built like a tank, but this thing is on another level entirely. The moment you sit in front of it, you understand where all the money went.

Ever since Moog was acquired by InMusic, the old “Made in Asheville, USA” era has effectively come to an end. Whatever your view on that, it seems highly unlikely that Moog will ever build another flagship instrument quite like this again. The newer synths sound fantastic and offer incredible value, but the One belongs to a different category altogether. It feels less like a synthesizer and more like a statement of intent.

The latest firmware has addressed the vast majority of the issues that surrounded the early units, and what remains is an extraordinarily deep, inspiring, and unapologetically over-engineered instrument. I suspect history will remember it as the last great flagship synthesizer from the original Moog era.

In fact, writing this description is making me question whether selling it is a sensible idea at all. There is a very real chance I come to my senses, keep the One, and sell several other large and expensive toys instead. Consider yourself warned. :-D
