Long before the JHS Show, Josh Scott built the reputation of JHS Pedals by modifying run-of-the-mill pedals so that they performed like boutique interpretations of classic vintage effects. These days, JHS is way too big to modify pedals, but when you come across one of their old mods, it can be amazing how great they sound.

The "Dyna Ross" mod was a clever way to coax the Ross Compressor sounds out of an everyday MXR Dyna Comp. Over the years, the rare Ross unit has blown up on eBay and Reverb, so original examples are incredibly expensive. Through his extensive research, Josh Scott discovered that the Ross circuit was just a mildly modded Dyna comp, and voila! By modifying the circuit to those vintage Ross specs, the Dyna Ross was born.

When you plug in, the Dyna Ross is a bit more transparent than the stock MXR. Your attack feels more natural, and the release of the compressor is subtly extended. Plus, there's stronger low end response, a bit of a volume boost, and a touch more of that classic "squish." All-in-all, the Dyna Ross is a fantastic compressor pedal that feels more musical than a standard Dyna Comp.

This MXR Dyna Comp was modified by JHS in 2014. It functions 100% as it should, and it sounds fantastic. and there is velcro on the bottom. The Dyna Ross is a great compressor for any application—it'll be sure to find a home on any pedal board!
