The goal was to build two perfect san dimas replicas with 80s, Charvel model parts.
To build the guitar, two perfectly fine charvels from the 80s were disassembled. The body comes from a model 2.The neck comes from a japan only charvel with a strathead, and it fits the body like a glove, no need for shims.
The necks feel is very similar to a model 2, maybe a little thinner. It's has that charvel "speed" feeling.
The logos were erased since they hosted the charvel spaghetti logo, and i didnt want to use a fake san dimas logo so it bears no logo on headstock.
Seymour Custom pickup
CTS push pull volume which converts the humbucker in a single coil
All hardware is original charvell brass parts.
The bridge is a top Schaller floyd.
It is painted in the style of the "redrum" guitar, professionally painted. The red "blood" pigment is amazing to look at.
The bass was painted in the same fashion.
Since i couldnt find a "strathead" neck from Charvel japan model series, we installed a 70s greco board, in excellent condition.
The pickups are 2 new seymour quarter pounder.
The bridge is an original brass unit like those on the original Charvel basses.
The tuners are Schaller top quality.Included a brass nut, i didnt want to replace the original since it was fine.
All the hardware is brass exactly the same as the original buttons, bridge too, all is NOS from the era.
It is a great chance to buy a "bloody pair"The project cost to build way more than we are asking for.
