Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a very nice and rarer Atlas desk stand from the 1940's era and perfect for just about any microphone you have. The design, paint scheme shows that it's clearly a 1st generation DS-7 model desk stand and it comes with it's original dark grey crinkle paint scheme. I haven't had an early DS-5 model desk stand to offer in almost 2 years now. They rarely come around.

Sometimes you just need a really special stand for that special older mic. If you have something from the 1930's to 1950's era that you want to match up using a period mic stand then this DS-7 will certainly do the trick.

Pic # 2 is from a late 1940's Atlas catalog showing this particular model along with the 1st gen DS-7 model stand and several other early floor stands.

Total dimension on the DS-7 is appx 8 1/2 inches tall X 6 inches wide (at it's lowest setting) but can be raised up to 13 inches inches at it's highest setting and makes a very stable platform for just about any microphone used. Great for small, medium and most larger mics.

This mic stand is almost 80 years old but still looks very nice.  The DS-7 had the painted cast iron base with the deco style 2 tier "waterfall" design. It has the very nice dual chrome risers as well which again, is adjustable via the center clutch mechanism.
This mic stand works perfectly. You'll see in pics # 7, 8 & 9 how the massive Amperite model ribbon microphone seats on this DS-7.

The upper chrome stem shows very lite wear in the form of scuff marks. Just slightly more wear on the bottom riser but the original Atlas decal is still mostly present .There are extremely lite signs of wear on the original dark grey paint. No signs of rust on the bottom of the base which is a plus. The stand was stored in an ideal environment. Even the 3 original felt pads are damn near perfect. Please let the detailed pics be your guide.

The stand will accept just about any microphone with the exception of a few Astatic mics due to their unusual 3 pin attachment. All E.V, Shure and Turner mics will screw on however as will any mic clip you have. This stand has the universal 5/8 X 27 thread.

This stand is an easy 8 on a scale of 10 though many would rate higher.

I do combine shipping as well if you need anything else at all.
