This is where the Valvetronix peaked. I had the 40x too. On the 40+ the power supply is built in and uses a standard cable. In addition, there’s a sturdy power switch and you can actually see and use the built in tuner. It’s in pretty good physical condition but has some digs, dents, small tears and the piping that goes above the grill cloth is long gone.
It’s really a great, flexible, lightweight, and great sounding amp. Don’t take my word for it. Check out the Anderton’s blind amp test on YouTube!
