This horn is a Rare Burbank 6 Star B-Flat Trumpet – Early Kanstul Era (SN: 1168) – Large Bore* and is Silver Plated.

It is a professional instrument and is a standout piece of brass history, produced during the early-to-mid 1980s collaboration between Donald Benge and master builder Zig Kanstul.

The "Burbank" line was created to meticulously recreate the legendary feel and sound of the original Burbank Benge trumpets. This specific model features the .468 Large Bore, offering a remarkably free-blowing experience and a rich, expansive sound.

Preserved for the past four decades, intended for the player or the collector, the condition of this instrument is excellent with a competent Kanstul Factory repair to the backbow of the bell. There remains only a slight rippling of the finish on the inside and outside apex of the backbow from the skilled use of a ball and driver.

Player’s Note:
Unlike later Claude Gordon models, this horn does not have the "chokes" in the bell or leadpipe, making it a true throwback to the classic Benge design. It’s a perfect lead or solo horn for players who want power without sacrificing agility.

In plain terms, this instrument was built by the same craftsmen who made classic Benge trumpets. This is a legit pro horn with real pedigree.
