Developed through a collaboration between Ian Thornley and Kevin Suhr, the Suhr Thornicus is among the most versatile stompboxes of its kind — and we’ve heard them all here at Sweetwater. Boasting two channels of mind-bending fuzz, the Thornicus features independent Fuzz and Octave sides, each with its own dedicated controls. The Fuzz side delivers thick, saturated sustain with warm, velvety breakup. The Octave side, on the other hand, incorporates an octave fuzz for added harmonic complexity. Each side’s passive Tone and Level knobs allow you to brighten or thicken your tone while also pushing the front end of your amp with just the right amount of output. Moreover, the Mids knobs enable you to dial in everything from mid-scooped grunge to presence-heavy articulation. Beyond that, the Thornicus features MIDI compatibility, allowing you to store and recall bypass states with ease.
