This 22" Paiste Twenty Series Dark Ride comes from the highly sought-after 2011–2012 transition period into the Masters line—offering that signature hand-hammered Turkish character Paiste fans love.
Tonally, this cymbal is dark, warm, and smoky with a breathy, complex wash. It has a wide dynamic range and a soft, responsive feel under the stick. The stick definition sits nicely on top of a rich, layered wash, giving you a controlled yet “peppery” articulation that never feels harsh.
Despite its darker character, this ride is very crashable, opening up when you lean into it while still remaining controllable at lower volumes. It excels in small jazz settings but is versatile enough to shine in blues, country, and beyond.
