I am offering a Gibson Hummingbird Standard HCS from 2015, a crafted in Bozeman, Montana (USA), all solid timber acoustic guitar featuring the legendary square-shoulder dreadnought design, resonant Sitka spruce top, back and sides made of warm-sounding mahogany, set-in mahogany neck with Slim Taper neck profile and 43.8mm TUSQ nut, bound rosewood fingerboard with shimmering mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, Grover Rotomatic tuners, and L.R. Baggs Element pickup system in a beautifully graded Heritage Cherry Sunburst high-gloss nitrocellulose finish with richly decorated Hummingbird Tortoise pickguard and cream bindings in excellent condition, including black Gibson luxury hardshell case, manufacturer’s papers, and professional setup with 12-gauge Elixir strings.
This 2015 Gibson Hummingbird Standard HCS carries on the legacy of the icon from Gibson’s Square Shoulder acoustic line. The popular short-scale Square Shoulder Dreadnought is considered an absolute classic and was first introduced in 1960. Thanks to its unique design and wide dynamic range with warm mids and powerful bass, it continues to inspire musicians around the world to this day.
Like the original from the 1960s, this modern interpretation features a solid mahogany back and sides, as well as a solid Sitka spruce top, which, thanks to the scalloped X-bracing, provides ample space for its resonance. The bound rosewood fingerboard is adorned with intricate parallelogram-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays, and the laminated mahogany neck features a comfortable, slim Slim Taper neck profile.
The fantastic woods and high-quality craftsmanship of the Gibson Bozeman workshop produce a wonderfully warm and exceptionally powerful sound, in which the mids and lively bass tones are particularly well-defined. The rounded body also ensures beautiful projection and a balanced, warm tone with a subtle yet dynamic range of timbres—ideal for any type of accompaniment, strumming, and picking!
A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.
In addition, the guitar comes factory-equipped with a high-quality L.R. Baggs Element pickup system, delivering a clear, authentic acoustic sound that shines even in live performances.
Truly a great guitar that—typical of Gibson Montana—offers an outstanding balance of sound, playability, and aesthetics.
