The Polar TI stands up as well today as it did back in the late 00's when it was first released. To be fair, it's really a chameleon...able to sound like just about any modern analog synth (or a Frankenstein version of one being fused to a harsh digital bit-thrashing animal).

The Virus can be beautiful or ugly, clean or dirty, and always, always musical. It's basically impossible to not get a good sound out of it. The Polar has the shorter keybed (37 full sized keys) but that only makes it more portable. It still has all of the voices and multitimbral-ity.

And yes, the hardware does sound vastly better than the emulator. In fact, it's not even close. The hardware synth is smooth as butter and bites harder than the software…no matter how good the PC or sound card.

This one only has slight surface use signs. A tiny scuff here, a sight hairline scratch there. But it's otherwise in great functional and aesthetic condition. The mod wheel has a bit of lateral play in it, but nothing that affects the playability. It's a solid synth in excellent shape.

I'll throw in the manual and a ton of Virus patches on an SD card. It's literally my Virus #4 and totally redundant, so I'm sending her out to a home where she can be used more often.

This particular Virus was used on my tracks "Stones", which was released on Solarstone's Pure Trance X album and found great success as an EP on the Pure Trance label including appearances with Solarstone on guest mixes for Markus Schulz and Above & Beyond's Group Therapy.
