Here is a 1961 Gibson Melody Maker.
Lets get it out of the way. Its had a headstock repair.
According to the original family, the repair must have been done in 1963.
The crack was two mahogany splines inserted on either side, and the whole upper region has been over sprayed. It has been stable for decades.
The serial number is hard to photo because the over spray, but in person in the right light you can read 41979.
There are dings, dents, and scratches. The finish is checked all around as one would expect.
The pots are not original, and I assume the knobs are not either. The volume and tone have also been switched in position.
Comes with the original gator chipboard case.
