1973 Ampeg V-4 Guitar/Bass Amplifier Head and Cabinet w/ Reverb

CONDITION: Amp/cab are in very good condition.  There is some light wear and tear from years or use as well as a bit of oxidation on the metal corners and foot pieces on the cabinet. This is all acceptable for a 50 plus year old vintage Rig, the patina is what you would expect. We completely went through the entire set and gave it through servicing. This is an amazing Rig.

HISTORY: The Ampeg V-4 and V-4B are iconic all-tube amplifiers introduced in the early 1970s, with the V-4 being a guitar head and the V-4B a bass version created after bassists started using the V-4. Both were built as lower-wattage alternatives to the 300-watt SVT amplifier, known for their distinct mid-range bite and warm, powerful tone. The original V-4 and V-4B used 7027A tubes, were manufactured in the Northeastern U.S.

The Ampeg V-4 head is a vintage, 100-watt all-tube amplifier available in two main versions: a guitar amp and a later bass reissue. Both are praised for their classic, powerful tone, but are heavy and require maintenance. Finding a matching vintage cabinet can be challenging, but there are modern and vintage options that pair well with the V-4 head.
