The S.E. Shires TBQ30GA is a high-performance large bore tenor trombone designed for serious players who want both consistency and customization. It features a .547” large bore with a responsive axial-flow valve, delivering an open blow and smooth, even airflow throughout the range of the instrument.

This model has a gold brass bell, which provides a warm, rich core to the sound with excellent projection and depth which is ideal for orchestral, wind ensemble, and solo settings. The handslide is precise and smooth, with Shires’ reputation for tight tolerances and excellent build quality showing throughout this instrument.

One of the standout features here is the included set of interchangeable leadpipes, allowing you to fine-tune resistance and response to match your playing style. Whether you prefer a more open feel or a bit more feedback, this setup gives you real flexibility without needing additional equipment.

This instrument is in mint condition and has been extremely well cared for. The slide is smooth, the valve is fast and quiet, and the horn is cosmetically very clean.
