Up for sale is one of the best modern Les Paul style guitars, currently produced in Japan - Cool Z ZLS1. This guitar was made in Japan, at the Fujigen factory, where the best Japanese guitars were made, in the year 2009, so it feels exactly to what you expecting from the highest quality instrument - better than any modern Les Paul, which will cost you like 3-5 times more. I really mean it! Luckily, you don't have to pay "a big brand fee", buying this instrument, to be bale to receive a full experience of playing the premium guitar and enjoy its quality.
Cool Z guitars were exclusively produced for the Japanese Shimamura Music Store chain, at the Fujigen factory and represents one of the best quality you may find on modern market. This is why many of you may never heard about this brand - because it was made exclusively for a Japanese market and never was officially imported outside of the countryside. Fujigen engineers not only took the best concept from the classic Les Paul design, but also added some amazing modern features, which moves the overall playability and sound of the instrument, to the next level:
- Circle Fretting System (C.F.S.) Slightly curved frets are mounted as each string and fret intersect at right angles to minimize the contact surface. You can obtain accurate pitch, cleaner longer sustain and true harmonics. *The frets we use aren't special. You can ask your nearest repair shop to hit them from the edge of the fingerboard when refret (also all frets has an "elite finish", with nicely rounded fret edges).
- Z Axis Deep Joint By setting neck about 1mm deeper than conventional electric guitars, we succeed to reduce the distance between the strings and the body top without forcibly lowering the strings height (also the neck has a hilless joint, so you can easily access the higher frets - super feature, which a lot of the Les Paul guitars are lacking).
- Compound Radius Fingerboard Gradually increased fingerboard's radius achieves a good balance between chords grip on the lower frets and bending on the higher ones.
The guitar is equipped with premium hardware like Grover tuners and the bridge + tailpiece, made by GOTOH.
The guitar has a 2 piece mahogany back, 2 piece solid maple top with gorgeous cherry sunburst finish. The neck is made of mahogany with rosewood fretboard. The neck has nice thick 50s profile with a long tenon.
The guitar is set up with low actions (about 1.6mm on low E and about 1.3mm on high E) and plays absolutely beautifully.
As for the condition, the guitar has some light wear and tear, related to the age, but nothing terrible. The frets are very good (about 80% left) and recently been polished. The guitar was fully cleaned and set up with Rotosound 9-46 strings + the fretboards was treated with lemon oil.
Overall the guitar looks and feels absolutely fantastic. If you're looking for a fantastic quality Les Paul, don't wanted to gamble with a vintage guitars (the vintage of course are super cool, but this guitar is honestly so much better in many aspects than a lot of the vintage guitars) and don't want to spend a big chunk of cash - this is the guitar you're looking for.
