Beautiful 2014 Gibson ES-335 TDC VOS 1963 Reissue in excellent condition, with a warm, rich tone that leans nicely toward jazz. The guitar comes with its original case and certificate of authenticity.
1. Body (Golden Era Construction)
- Materials: 3-ply laminated wood (Maple/Poplar/Maple), pressed according to original early ’60s Gibson specs.
- Center Block: Solid maple, essential for sustain, stability, and feedback control.
- Finish: VOS (Vintage Original Spec) nitrocellulose, giving a slightly aged, natural look (typically Cherry – TDC: Thinline Double Cutaway).
2. Neck & Fingerboard
- Neck Profile: Authentic ’60s Slim Taper, thinner and faster than ’59 profiles, very comfortable to play.
- Nut: Vintage width 1 11/16" (42.8 mm), precisely cut for optimal playability.
- Fingerboard: High-quality Indian rosewood with a 12" radius and Small Block inlays, typical of early ’60s ES-335 models.
3. Electronics & Hardware
- Pickups: Pair of Custombucker PAF-style pickups (Alnico III), designed to replicate the open, dynamic, harmonically rich tone of original Gibson pickups.
- Circuit: Hand-wired with 500k CTS potentiometers and vintage-style capacitors for smooth, musical tone control.
- Hardware: ABR-1 bridge and lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece, contributing to a responsive, bright, and resonant sound.
4. Vintage Details & Feel
- Pickguard: Short pickguard version, correct for 1963 specs.
- Tuners: Kluson Deluxe vintage-style tuners.
- Binding: Slightly aged amber binding on body and neck, applied using traditional techniques.
