The Reverend Greg Koch Signature Gristlemaster is a high-performance electric guitar designed in collaboration between Reverend Guitars and legendary guitarist Greg Koch. It is known for blending classic "T-style" vintage vibes with modern innovations like noiseless active pickups and unique body chambering.
Performance Features
- Fishman Fluence Gristle-Tone Pickups: These active, hum-free pickups are the heart of the guitar. A signature "Gristle Button" (located between the volume and tone knobs) toggles between two distinct voicings: a chimey, clear "White Guard" tone and a meatier, punchier "Black Guard" sound.
- Korina Body: Like all Reverend guitars, it uses Korina wood, prized for its resonance and consistency. The body is slightly larger (about 2-3%) than a standard Telecaster to better fit taller players, and it features a chamber under the pickguard for improved sustain and weight relief.
- Roasted Maple Neck: The neck is heat-treated to remove moisture, increasing stability against humidity changes while providing a smooth, "broken-in" feel. It typically features a compound radius (10"-14") for easy playability across the fretboard.
- Hardware Innovations: It includes Reverend Pin-Lock Tuners for fast string changes and a Wilkinson classic bridge with staggered brass saddles for precise intonation
