Superb vintage Selmer "Balanced Tone" clarinet from ~1944, s/n M4911, fully restored by Audrey Denny at ClarinetQuest. Incredible condition, no cracks, new Valentino "Masters" pads.
Great free-blowing clarinet with a rich, dark, and focused tone. Considered a forerunner to the Centered Tone, it features a wide bore design suited for jazz, offering good projection and flexibility. Classic big band swing-era clarinet. I love this clarinet, but I am more used to my vintage Buffet pre-R13 from the same era. I don't need two amazing vintage clarinets. This Selmer needs to be played and enjoyed.
