This is an Epiphone Al Caiola model! It is a rare, vintage hollow-body electric guitar produced by Gibson in the Kalamazoo factory between approximately 1963 and 1969 with this example being a 1966. It was designed for session musician Al Caiola and came in both a Custom and Standard version, often seen in a vibrant cherry red finish this one has faded with time. Case has a bit of odor but fitting for its age.
- Nut is 1 5/8” as most from 1966
- Truss rod works perfectly
- Neck is a typical slim taper profile from 1966
- Neck angle is spot on with no issues with playability
- Guitar spent most of its life in the case with the lack of fretwear. Only some small marks on the frets but no divots at all
- Very clean example minus the faded cherry finish
