14" Paiste Signature Tradionals Medium-Light Hi-Hats (Pair) Etched Logo Era

These hats have major wear and modifications, but are still very functional.

I purchased these online, and some of the issues were not disclosed, so I will do my best with this description. Please read this description and zoom in on the photos before buying them, as I will not accept returns.

The most obvious is that 4 holes were drilled in the bottom hat in the Zildjian Quick-Beat style. The outer edges are still a little rough where the drill came through, and could be filed down if it is a concern.

I was okay with this modification... However, the hats don't sit flat, and it's not really visible in the pictures, so they don't close very tightly when playing unless you put a whole lot of pressure on the foot pedal. I don't think this was from abuse, but clearly they have been played a lot over the years. I've been playing Sound Edge and New Beats forever, so it could just be me. This line of cymbals is known to be very soft anyway, and you find many rides and crashes with bent or warping of the edges, even from normal use.

The top cymbal has slight keyholing, and the hole is slightly raised on one side.

Cosmetically, they are not in bad shape, aside from a ton of patina. I don't see any cracks or flea bites.

There are some positive qualities; They do sound good and are capable of more volume and cut than any of the other Paiste Traditional hats of the same model I've played. I prefer tight hats, and these are just not what I was hoping for. They may be salvaged if you can get the edges flattened a bit, or wanted to send them to a custom cymbal smith or even check with Paiste USA.
