A beautiful Martin D-28 shade top came into our store recently. This one was born in 1970. We bought this from an older gentleman who rarely (if ever) played it. The frets are like new, the neck is straight, and it does not need a neck set. There’s plenty of bridge saddle to go lower if you want, but the medium action is perfect if not a little low for bluegrass playing. This guitar is very clean with only the very slightest marks along the top side of the neck as pictured. There are two very faint check lines in the top which are impossible to photograph. This guitar is not mint. If you look at it very closely, you may find some tiny imperfections but the pictures will not show them. There are no cracks, breaks, modifications, or repairs on the guitar. It is just like when it came from the factory in 1970. What this guitar needs is to be played! It sounds very good already but I feel sure that this guitar will open up and start to sound better and better as it’s played more. It comes with the original blue Martin case on which someone has painted a rather nice landscape scene. Thanks.
