The Magnatone Zephyr X-5 is a fascinating piece of American guitar history. Introduced in 1965 as part of Magnatone's Starstream line, it was marketed as a "slimline" solidbody Vintage Guitar and aimed at both professional musicians needing a smaller instrument and students. Guitar-List Built with an Appalachian poplar body and a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, RetroFret it featured super-sensitive single-coil pickups, a Lever-Lock vibrato, and an innovative locking nut — well ahead of its time.
