This is a rare 2-piece Gretsch made in Brooklyn USA Blue Sparkle (glass glitter) “Round Badge” era group of drums, with a very rare 14x22 virgin bass drum (no mounts) and fully original 5.5x14 Dixie Land snare drum with no modifications.
The bass drum is original with no cracks or extra holes and has been restored with period correct repro badge and press fit grommet. This is a very rare single-tension 8-lug drum with original wrap and inlays. A small portion of inlay was replaced with period correct NOS inlay, and the hoops touched up in a few areas. The entire drum was cleaned and polished with Simichrome metal polisher, and it sounds fantastic with a Remo Modern Vintage resonant head and vintage Remo black dot batter. A metal hoop protector is also included to protect the wooden hoop.
The snare is in good condition with no cracks or extra holes, and features the original Die Cast hoops, strainer, butt plate, and snare wires. The inside of the shell has its original orange paper label and serial number with model. It has a fantastic tone with Remo batter and resonant heads.
Both drums have their original grey metallic interior paint and are very presentable under stage lights. The Blue Sparkle wrap has minimal fading and looks spectacular (all seams are tight). The kit looks phenomenal in person. A bonus vintage snare stand is also included with buy it now or close offer. They will be carefully packed and shipped with full protection and fast same day tracking. International buyers welcome ($350 worldwide shipping).
