ReWind Electric PAF 1958

This is a ReWind Electric 1958 PAF set with aged nickel covers and 4-conductor for phase/split wiring. Leads were cut for Les Paul.

James told me that: "these pickups have a cool complexity to the midrange and a resonance unique from my other A2 PAF sets that delivers that sort of voice. The softer treble is very sweet and the soft compression in the upper mids / lower treble helps keep those upper notes sounding fat and ring long in cleaner sounding rigs. These pickups do still have an open and breathy upper "beyond treble" response, like all great PAFs. They aren't muddy or dark, they just have a nice fullness to the notes and a softer sweeter treble. Not the sharper and crisper treble of some of my other sets. The have that particular vocal character and sweeter treble on the upper strings that the A2 1958 PAFs have."

Copied from a beautiful sounding set of 1958 originals, which had distinctly different wire specs and coil designs for the slug and screw coils, these pickups blend the independent and complimentary voicings of the two coils into a collaborative duet of rich complexity. These coils, paired with a particular selection of steels and custom degaussed AlNiCo II magnets result in a hollow sound with a fluty and somewhat metallic vocal quality to the lower midrange frequencies.
