The Brauner Phantom V is a phantom powered large diaphragm FET microphone. It utilizes the same capsule as the VM1 tube microphone. It was also developed based on the circuit design of the VM1. It offers three patterns– omni, cardioid and figure 8, and also features a a -10dB pad switch. The Phantom V offers the same features as the Brauner C but comes with switchable polar characteristics. In cardioid mode it is exactly the same as the Phantom C.
Every Brauner I’ve owned has been stellar. Brauner mics have been out of production since the panademic and the “V” is generally hard to find. The mic is in very good condition.
I am the second owner and have only used the mic in my smoke free home studio. It was made in 2012.
