Condition: "Fair". This Bass has been well loved and has a lot of miles on it.
Notes
- Heavily worn finish. There is exposed wood in many spots. On the backside the exposed body is quite rough. Top side it looks like there was a small finish fill at some point located near the Bass side of the neck pocket.
- A portion of rosewood above the truss rod cavity has been repaired by a local shop and is very well done. The actually truss rod nut does have one corner snapped off. It is tight but the neck is in a pretty optimal spot with slight relief.
- Like all vintage tort. pickguards, there is shrinkage. This has led to some warpage and small cracks.
- Frets appear to be original. There is evidence of a level, crown, and polish based on marks on the fretboard indicating a three corner file was used for crowning.
- It looks like the original owner either wore or created 2 grooves on the Bass side edge of the fingerboard. The 19th and 20th frets have a very exaggerated dip in the rosewood, possibly to rest a thumb.
- Pot codes are mostly covered but all look to be original.
- Neck stamped April 5th 1966 neck C.
- Nut has been replaced with a well made bone replacement.
